The trade volume in the European hot roll market is light, and the advantage of import and export price difference is not obvious

The recent quotation of the European local hot spring was basically stable at 768 euros/ton EXW, which was basically flat on a month-on-week basis, and the number of transactions increased was not much. The transaction price is basically around 750 euros/ton. It is reported that some steel mills in Europe are considering raising the price of hot coils in the second quarter. The reduction of supply and the lack of obvious competitive advantage in import prices are the driving forces to further increase the local price. The price of hot coils for delivery from April to May for Italian exports is 800 euros per ton, without any discount. Due to the high market price, buyers have no direct purchase intention. Although the transaction orders in January rose sharply, most of them are now taking a wait-and-see attitude and the market transaction list. On the other hand, steel mills have a strong willingness to stand up and good order volume, so the subsequent price changes need to be further observed.

In the import market, the uncompetitive price also provides support for the local price. At present, the price of Indian and Asian import hotspots is 750 euros/ton CFR (April shipment), but the number of orders is small. Japan, South Korea and Türkiye did not make any offer or deal this week. Moreover, the price difference at home and abroad is small, and the transportation time is long, so the imported resources have no obvious advantages.
